Home 3C
Most individuals who live on Home 3C use a wheelchair or require assistance when walking and need many supports such as assistance with self-care, eating, grooming and dressing. Many individuals also require daily nursing assistance, and physical and nutritional management.
Program Focus:
- Sensory stimulation by exploring the environment through touch, feeling, movement, sound, etc., is made an integral part of the day. Active exploration of the environment is emphasized
- Object manipulation (approaching, touching, picking up and holding objects) is encouraged
- Receptive and expressive language development is encouraged; involving total communication such as signs, gestures and switches to indicate preferences and needs
- Training in basic self-help skills is provided
- Development and facilitation of group and individual leisure time skills and social activities is emphasized
- Preference assessment is used to assist in program development and to enhance quality of life
