Home 6A
Home 6 is unique in that it has four living areas, but functions as one home unit, which affords each individual the opportunity to have private bedrooms. The individuals who live in this home present with varying degrees of challenging behaviors and as such, most of them require close supervision and extensive individualized behavioral training. The goal for this group is for each individual to learn to manage his behavior to an extent that they may reside in a less restrictive environment.
Program Focus:
- Learning to express frustrations and emotions in a socially appropriate manner is emphasized
- Learning to communicate needs and desires is a high priority for training
- Individuals learn leisure, daily living, and community integration skills
- Close monitoring of psychiatric medications as an adjunct to training is emphasized
