Parents & Associates, Inc., a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) agency, was incorporated on May 20, 1983, as a nonprofit organization. The association consists of parents and other citizens whose primary purpose is to promote the welfare and development of all those who live at the Center. They also provide support for families and the community. NVTC’s P & A plays a key role in assisting the Facility Director and his staff in ensuring that operation of the Center effectively supports the needs of each individual client.
Through annual dues and fund raising projects, P & A has provided a hydrotherapeutic swimming pool, sports court, nature trail, pavilions, ambiance funds for living areas, as well as many more benefits that enhance the lives of the people who live at the Center, such as:

- Sensory Stimulation Equipment
- Therapeutic Equipment
- Social Activities
- Leisure Activities
- All Season Porches
- Camping Experiences
- Augmentative Communication Devices
P & A of NVTC is a United Way participant. Contributions can be made to agency #8454. Also, P & A of NVTC is a participant in the Commonwealth Virginia Campaign (CVC). Contributions in this campaign should be made to agency #8383, and for the Combined Federal Campaign (#39558).
